Café
Café is General Electric's design-forward line, built around personalization, with hardware and finishes a homeowner chooses so two kitchens with the same appliances need not look alike.
What Café makes
Café builds a full kitchen suite under the General Electric umbrella, covering refrigeration, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, and over-range microwaves. Refrigeration runs to French-door and counter-depth models, several with a hot-water dispenser and an auto-fill pitcher built into the door. The cooking side offers gas, electric, and induction ranges, including slide-in models with a griddle burner, along with double wall ovens and speed ovens. What defines the line is finish and hardware: appliances come in matte white, matte black, and stainless, and the handles and knobs ship as separate hardware sets in brushed brass, brushed bronze, brushed black, and stainless, so a buyer picks the metal accent. The suite connects through an app for remote control and guided cooking, and the whole family is meant to be matched across a kitchen while still reading as personalized.
The hardware you choose
The distinguishing idea is that the metal trim is a separate choice rather than fixed at the factory. Café ships its ranges, refrigerators, and ovens in a base finish, and the knobs and handles arrive as their own hardware kits in several metal tones, so the same appliance can wear brushed brass in one kitchen and brushed black in another, and the hardware can be swapped later if the room changes. That turns a mass-produced appliance into something closer to a specified fixture without custom manufacturing. Beyond the look, the line carries working features like precise induction elements, a built-in hot-water tap on some refrigerators, and connected controls that guide cook times through the app. The combination aims at buyers who want a coordinated suite that still carries a personal finish.
