What Zephyr makes
Zephyr concentrates on kitchen ventilation with a design-forward catalog. The line covers wall-mounted chimney hoods, island hoods that hang over a cooking island, under-cabinet models, and power packs and liner inserts that hide the blower inside custom cabinetry. Beyond plain stainless, Zephyr builds hoods in glass, curved metal, and sculptural shapes meant to read as a design element in the room, organized into collections that range from restrained to statement pieces. Blowers are offered at several airflow ratings to match the heat a cooktop or pro range produces, with internal, in-line, and remote mounting to move the motor away from the kitchen. LED lighting, multiple fan speeds, and dishwasher-safe or baffle filters run across the line, and some models add features like an auto-sensing mode and connected controls. The line is aimed at kitchens that want ventilation to look intentional while still clearing smoke, steam, and odor from over the cooking surface.
Design paired with the blower
What sets Zephyr apart is the combination of a strong technical blower with a look built to be seen. The hoods use blowers rated to match the output below them, with a design the company tunes to move the required air while keeping the noise down, so a statement hood over an island still runs quietly at everyday speeds. Splitting the blower into an in-line or remote mount takes the motor out of the canopy to lower the sound heard at the range. On the visible side, the glass, curved, and sculptural shapes let the hood act as a fixture rather than a utility box, and the LED lighting is tuned to light the cooking surface cleanly. Some models add an auto-sensing mode that ramps the fan when it detects heat and steam, and connected controls for adjusting speed.
