What Gaggenau makes
Gaggenau is organized around modular built-in cooking. Its Vario cooktops, in the 200 and 400 series, are individual modules, an induction section, a gas section, an electric grill, a teppanyaki plate, or a deep fryer, combined side by side to build a cooking surface to spec. Above and around them sit combi-steam ovens, convection ovens, and warming and vacuum-seal drawers that install flush into a cabinet run. On the cold side, refrigeration columns, wine climate cabinets, and freezers install behind furniture fronts for an integrated wall. Ventilation covers downdraft units that rise from the counter and overhead hoods. The look is deliberately industrial, with heavy stainless, cast surfaces, and controls carried across the range, so a full kitchen reads as one designed system rather than a set of separate appliances.

The organizing principle is modularity built to professional tolerances. Rather than sell a fixed cooktop, Gaggenau sells cooking modules that a kitchen combines, so a cook can pair induction with a gas wok burner and a teppanyaki plate on one counter. The modules are engineered to install flush, sitting level with the countertop or cabinet face for a built-in finish. The combi-steam ovens add full steam alongside convection, which supports bread, vegetables, and reheating without drying food out. Heavy materials and commercial-derived construction carry through the line. That mix of flexible configuration and flush, furniture-grade installation is the reason architects and designers reach for the brand on high-specification kitchens.
